Recipe: Jessica’s Pizza “Crack Dust”

If you listened to Episode 3 of Cardinal Motion you might be wondering what Pizza “Crack Dust” tastes like. Wonder no more – here’s the recipe! Silly names aside, you can call this seasoning whatever you want, just try it. You won’t be disappointed.

Jessica’s Pizza “Crack Dust”

1 cup Nutritional Yeast Flake
4 tbsp. Tomato Powder (Found at a spice store, like Savory in Lafayette Village)
1 tsp. Garlic Powder
1/2 tsp. Onion Powder
1 1/2 tsp. Dried Basil
1 1/2 tsp. Dried Oregano
1 1/2 tsp. Dried Parsley
1/4 tsp. Fennel Seed Powder
Dash Cayenne Pepper
1/4 tsp. Salt (or to taste)
1/4 tsp. Pepper

Add all ingredients to a food processor and pulse several times to “powderize.” (If you don’t have a food processor, you can achieve a similar effect using a mortar and pestle, or even just your hands in a large bowl.) Adjust with salt to your liking. Use atop anything you want to taste like pizza. Some prime examples might include: baked potatoes, steamed vegetables, scrambled eggs, salad, pasta noodles, etc. Store in a dry, cool area, in a sealed container.
